" 1 In the beginning God created the heavens and the earth. 2 The earth was without form, and void; and darkness [a]was on the face of the deep. And the Spirit of God was hovering over the face of the waters. 3 Then God said, “Let there be light”; and there was light. "
- Genesis 1:1-3, New King James Version
What if when God said let there be light that darkness was so beautiful that it became bright?
What if God is both dark as night and as bright as the day? Would His spirit still be able to lead the way? What if He is as pale as the moon and is as shiny as the sun? Would you then consider me equal to everyone?
What if every color was equally fluorescent and true, would my color be more or less than the color of you? What if tones, shades, and hues were never misunderstood or confused? Then I think no color would ever be neglected or abused. If color didn’t matter.
What if black and white were both dark as night? Would we all be able to see the light? What if every time day begin to break the sun says wait causing the dawn to be late?
What if your color is glossy and new, and mine is dull and true? Then aren’t I the same saturation as you? What if race had nothing to do with the color of one’s face, and it was all about the journey of leaving this place? I believe color would not be a concern. The lesson to learn would be fun, and the only thing that would matter is how far ALL colors would have to run to get to the Son.
What if all colors had no limits to see and never mattered to you or me? Then would all colors, shades and tones be free? Free to express, free to rejoice, free to lift every voice, and to sing of course. Lift every voice and sing hallelujah no doubt because color wouldn’t matter, praising the Creator is what it is all about.
What if red, yellow, green, and blue said to black and white “we are just as bold and beautiful as you two?” Only if color didn’t matter to you and to me because we are all apart of whom the Son sets free.
What if there was no color-on-color crime? Would everyone still have to serve time? I mean no hatred, no jealousy, no envy or sin just one peaceful color of the clear world we all live in.
I mean really think about it. What if color didn’t matter to me and to you? Would we see things the same way as we do? Would we walk around blindly bumping into everyone we see with nobody getting mad or angry because we are all bumping into me. Seeing each other as our true selves, basting in the glorious place where peace and love dwells. If only color didn’t matter to you and to me.
Lastly, what if your color glows without a flame? Should I know your name? is it the name above all names? What if God is a spirit with all colors rolled into one, and our glimmer of hope is His Only Begotten Son, and the color of love and peace is His will to be done?
So next time you think about the struggle between the colors, in particular black and white I say find a shade of grey and enjoy a peaceful night. Clearly speaking just ask yourself what if God is as dark as the night and as bright as the sun? Then I think all humans would be considered equal as one. Two lights and one day both being equal and seen the same way until the end and watch it all starts over again. And that my friends would be peace on earth once color does not matter among human beings.
Glory Hallelujah Amen!
I grew up in a family of musicians and was exposed to a variety of musical genres at a young age. My love for music led me to take up the guitar, and I have been playing ever since. I draw inspiration from a wide range of artists, from Bob Dylan to Beyonce.
My music is a reflection of my life experiences and emotions. I am constantly experimenting with different chord progressions and melodies, and I let my intuition guide me when it comes to songwriting. I believe that the best music comes from the heart.
